Job Summary:
The Aircraft Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections and evaluations of aircraft systems, components, and structures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies. The inspector will assess the overall condition of the aircraft, identify any defects or discrepancies, and determine the necessary corrective actions. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, technical knowledge, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform comprehensive inspections of aircraft systems, structures, and components, including engines, landing gears, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, avionics, and other critical components, in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
2. Conduct detailed examinations of aircraft maintenance and repair records to ensure compliance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements.
3. Identify and document any defects, discrepancies, or non-compliance issues during inspections, accurately recording findings in inspection reports and maintenance tracking systems.
4. Analyze inspection results and determine the appropriate corrective actions, including maintenance, repairs, replacements, or adjustments, based on established guidelines and procedures.
5. Collaborate with maintenance personnel, engineers, and manufacturers to address technical issues, resolve discrepancies, and ensure the aircraft's airworthiness.
6. Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and verify their effectiveness through subsequent inspections.
7. Stay updated with the latest industry regulations, technical advancements, and best practices related to aircraft inspection and maintenance.
8. Participate in internal and external audits and inspections, providing necessary documentation and information as required.
9. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during all inspection activities.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in aviation maintenance or a related field is preferred.
2. Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
3. Minimum of [X] years of experience working as an aircraft inspector or in a similar role within the aviation and aerospace industry.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, and components, including engines, avionics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and landing gears.
5. Strong understanding of FAA regulations, airworthiness standards, and maintenance practices applicable to aircraft inspection and maintenance.
6. Proficient in using various inspection tools, equipment, and testing devices to assess aircraft condition and performance.
7. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and non-compliance issues accurately.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess inspection findings and determine appropriate corrective actions.
9. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to accurately document inspection reports and collaborate with team members.
10. Ability to work independently and prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
11. Commitment to safety, adherence to regulations, and a strong sense of responsibility towards ensuring aircraft airworthiness.
12. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
